Let’s look at the real numbers: the Upwork platform reports that demand for freelancers who know how to work with AI tools grew by 109% in a single year. On Fiverr, services tagged “AI” are among the fastest-growing categories on the entire platform. This isn’t a fad. It’s a market shift.
And here’s what’s especially interesting for those of us in Slovenia – most of the competition is in English. There’s a huge amount of room in the Slovenian market. Local businesses, online stores, hairdressers, mechanics, restaurants – they all need content, but they don’t have the time or the know-how to create it. And now you know how to do it with AI.
2. Do You Really Not Need to Know How to Code?
The direct answer: no.
Artificial intelligence sounds technical. It sounds complex. But the tools I’ll describe below are designed for everyone to use.
ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Canva AI – all of these tools work on the principle of simple commands in plain language. You write what you want. The AI does it. That’s all there is to it.
All you need is:
- A computer or tablet with internet access
- An email address to sign up
- A willingness to learn new habits
- Persistence for the first 30 days
No programming is required. No special education is needed. Almost no startup capital.

3. Method #1: Writing Content with the Help of AI
This is the simplest and fastest way to get started. I’m talking about writing text – blogs, product descriptions for online stores, social media posts, emails, ad copy.
How does this work in practice?
Say a local massage salon has a website with old, boring service descriptions. The owner has no time to write new copy. That’s where you come in.
With ChatGPT (the most popular AI writing tool – a chatbot you give prompts to, and it creates text) you can produce a professional description of each service in five minutes. Then you rework it in your own words so it sounds natural, and deliver it to the client.
For a content package like this (10–20 texts), you can charge between 50 and 250 euros. Time to complete? 3–5 hours.
How do you find your first clients?
Start locally. Go around your town and look at local businesses’ websites. Hairdressers, pastry shops, auto mechanics, doctors – who has a bad website or poor descriptions? Send them a direct message or give them a call. Tell them you work with digital content and offer them a free sample.
Once you have five satisfied clients, referrals start working for you.
What is ChatGPT? ChatGPT is an AI-based web application from the company OpenAI. It’s available at chat.openai.com. A free version exists, but for professional work I recommend ChatGPT Plus, which gives you access to the most powerful model.
4. Method #2: Freelancing with AI Tools on Fiverr and Upwork
Freelancing means you work for different clients as an independent contractor, without a regular job. It happens on online platforms where buyers look for providers for specific tasks.
Fiverr (fiverr.com) and Upwork (upwork.com) are the two largest platforms of this kind in the world. On Fiverr you offer a service at a fixed price, while on Upwork you apply for projects.
How do you earn money with AI on these platforms?
You offer services that AI carries out in the background, while you oversee and adapt the results. Examples:
- Writing blogs and copy – a client orders 10 blog posts; you create them with ChatGPT, refine them, and deliver them.
- Creating images with AI – a client wants visual materials for a campaign; you create them with Midjourney or DALL-E
- Translating with AI – AI translates the text first, and you make sure the Slovenian sounds natural
- Video editing with AI tools – tools like Descript or CapCut AI let you edit quickly
Real earnings example: A single themed Instagram post (text + image) = €10-15. If you prepare 30 posts per month for one client = €300-450. Time needed with AI: 5-10 hours per month.
5. Method #3: Creating and Selling Digital Products
A digital product is anything you create once and sell many times – with no additional work. This is called passive income (income that keeps coming in even when you’re not actively working).
With the help of AI, you can create:
- Templates – e.g., email templates, social media templates
- Prompts – these are specific instructions for AI tools that deliver the best results (many companies pay for good prompts)
What is a prompt? A prompt is an instruction you write to an AI tool.
You can sell digital products through:
- Gumroad (gumroad.com) – a platform for selling digital products, easy to set up
- Etsy – yes, digital templates are sold on Etsy too!
6. Method #4: A YouTube Channel with AI Content
YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world, right after Google. A billion people visit it every day. And artificial intelligence now lets you create YouTube channels without ever having to step in front of a camera yourself.
There’s a model called “faceless YouTube” – a channel without a face. The videos are made from voiceovers, animations, images, and text. No filming of you. No camera.
How it works, step by step:
- You choose a topic (e.g., personal finance, cooking, travel, artificial intelligence)
- ChatGPT writes the video script
- A tool like ElevenLabs or Murf creates the voiceover (a synthetic voice that sounds natural) – ElevenLabs is a web app that converts text into a realistic voice
- A tool like Pictory or Lumen5 creates a video from text and images
- You upload the video to YouTube
How does YouTube pay?
Once you reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of public watch time in the last 12 months, you can join the YouTube Partner Program. Then you start receiving a share of the ad revenue from ads shown alongside your videos.
Earnings depend on the topic, the viewers’ country, and the type of ads.
In addition to ads, you earn through affiliate marketing (I explain it in section #9), sponsors, and sales of your own products.
7. Method #5: AI Image Generation and Sales
Midjourney, DALL-E, and Stable Diffusion are AI tools for generating images. You write a description of the image and the AI creates it in a second.
How do you monetize this?
Selling on stock photo platforms: You sell the images you create with AI on platforms like Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, or Dreamstime. Each download earns $0.25-2. Upload 1,000 images and you earn passively every month.
Print-on-demand: This is a business model where you upload your images to platforms like Redbubble or Printful, and they print the images on T-shirts, mugs, and posters and ship them to the buyer. You don’t do anything – you just upload the image and earn a commission.
Selling to clients: Companies pay for unique images for websites, advertising materials, and packaging. With AI, you create them in minutes.
8. Method #6: Service Automation for Local Businesses
In my opinion, this method is the most underrated and has one of the greatest potentials in Slovenia.
Local businesses – hairdressers, dentists, real estate agents, restaurants – face repetitive tasks that take up their time:
- Answering customer questions
- Reservations and appointments
- Email replies
- Social media posts
- Writing quotes
You automate these for them with AI tools. You offer a monthly service = monthly recurring revenue.
Example: A dental practice gets a chatbot on its website from you (a chatbot is a program that answers customer questions as if you were talking to a human), which answers frequently asked questions and accepts reservations. You charge €300 for setup and €100 per month for maintenance. With 10 such clients = €1,000 in passive monthly income.
Chatbot tools: ManyChat, Voiceflow, Botpress – all of them offer free courses and easy-to-use interfaces.
9. Method #7: Affiliate Marketing with the Help of AI
Affiliate marketing (partner marketing) is a model where you promote other companies’ products or services, and you earn a commission on every sale that comes through your recommendations. It’s not your product – you just recommend it and earn.
AI helps you here on two levels:
1. Content creation: With AI, you can quickly write blog posts, product reviews, and comparisons – content that attracts visitors from Google.
2. Email marketing: AI writes a series of emails that automatically go out to subscribers and recommend affiliate products to them.
Where can you sign up for affiliate programs?
- Amazon Associates – a 1-10% commission on everything the customer you referred buys on Amazon
- Booking.com – a commission on hotel bookings
- ClickBank – a platform with digital products, commissions of up to 75%
- ShareASale – thousands of different companies
Before you write to me: “Žan, but how am I going to attract visitors?” – the answer is once again content, which you write with AI and which Google gradually ranks higher. A blog like that costs time and consistency, not money.

Let me explain the essential tools that I use and recommend myself:
ChatGPT (chat.openai.com) What it’s for: Writing text, ideas, scripts, emails, blog posts, answering questions
Claude (claude.ai) What it’s for: Longer texts, analysis, more natural writing
Midjourney (midjourney.com) What it’s for: Generating high-quality images
Canva AI (canva.com) What it’s for: Graphic design with AI features (Magic Write, Text to Image)
ElevenLabs (elevenlabs.io) What it’s for: Converting text to speech, voiceovers for videos
Pictory (pictory.ai) What it’s for: Creating videos from text or blog posts
Make.com (make.com) What it’s for: Workflow automation (connects different apps together). It’s an automation tool – not AI in itself, but combined with AI it’s incredibly powerful.

11. How Much Money Can You Realistically Earn per Month?
I’m going to be honest here – I’m not promising miracles.
Realistic estimates:
Month 1: You’re learning the tools, setting up your first services, looking for your first clients. Earnings: €0-500
Months 3-4: You have your first clients and your income is growing. Earnings: €500-1,000
Months 5-7: You have regular clients, referrals (recommendations) start to work, maybe even some passive income. Earnings: €1,000-3,000
Month 8+: Systems work for you, and you’re thinking about scaling. Earnings: €3,000+
The key difference between those who succeed and those who don’t? Consistency in the first 30 days. Those who give up after 30 days because there are “no results” will never see what happens.
12. How to Start Today – Step by Step
Here’s a concrete plan for your first 30 days:
Week 1: Lay the foundation
- Create a free ChatGPT account (chat.openai.com)
- Create a Canva account (canva.com)
- Experiment with ChatGPT for 30 minutes every day – ask it to write text, answer questions, write an email
- Decide which way of earning feels closest to you (writing content, images, chatbots…)
Week 2: Choose your niche
- A niche is the area in which you will specialize (e.g., content for hair salons, images for online stores, chatbots for dentists)
- Use AI to create 3 work samples (a portfolio) that you’ll show to potential clients
- Open a free account on Fiverr and Upwork
Week 3: Look for clients
- Send 10 direct messages to local businesses or on Fiverr
- Offer a free sample or a test project at a reduced price
- Ask your first client for a public opinion (review)
Week 4: Deliver, analyze, repeat

Is earning money with AI legal? Yes, completely. Artificial intelligence is a tool, just like Word or Photoshop. There is no legal obstacle to using it commercially.
How much time per day do I need to dedicate to this? To get started, 1–2 hours a day is enough. Once your income starts to grow, you decide how much time you want to invest.
Will AI replace my work or enhance it? It enhances it. AI does 80% of the work, and you add the other 20% of value – a personal touch, quality control, and communication with the client. The client pays for your expertise, not just the text.
What’s the best way to start for a complete beginner? I recommend writing content with AI. It has the lowest barrier to entry, the market needs it right away, and you can earn quickly.
